Course - CGT 247
Course Title: 3D Animation - Introduction
Credit Hours: (3- 0) 3 Cr. Hrs.
Description:
This course is designed to increase the students familiarity with the 3D interface, concepts of 3D space, and animation. It will provide an introduction to primitives, some modifiers, and box-modeling techniques. Students will be exposed to lighting, texture mapping concepts, and basic animation techniques. Students will also develop skill sets to create simple animations.
Prerequisite:
(A requirement that must be completed before taking this course.)
- CGT 123 and
- CGT 125
Competencies:
Upon successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- Use the 3D modeling interface, work and navigate within 3D space, and apply a variety of basic animation techniques to 3 dimensions.
- Use the XYZ coordinate system to create highly accurate models and motions.
- Create 3D models using primitives, basic modifiers, and box-modeling techniques.
- Position lights and cameras, and apply surfaces and texture maps to models to create effective 3D scenes.
- Create simple 3D animations using keyframes and camera motion.
