Course Title:  Digital Imaging 2 - Photoshop

Credit Hours:   (3- 0) 3 Cr. Hrs.
Description:

This course will further explore the uses of photography and the digital image in the field of graphic design. Students will learn how object oriented graphics programs can interface with bitmap oriented programs such as Photoshop. Students will make extensive use of scanners and digital cameras to design and create graphic design projects including artwork for Web pages and multimedia applications.

Prerequisite:

           (A requirement that must be completed before taking this course.)

  • CGT 109
  • CGT 123 and
  • CGT 125
Competencies:

           Upon successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:

  • Apply common computer graphic file formats and be able to integrate Pixal and vector-based graphic programs.
  • Demonstrate how to composite layers, using blending modes, and explain when such techniques should be applied.
  • Utilize different forms of input media: digital cameras vs. scanning, writing files to CD, stock photography, etc.
  • Apply the advanced features of paths and pen tools.
